Cody Wright, Assistant Winemaker

Raised among the vines and barrels in his family winery, Cody received degrees in Environmental Geology and Environmental Studies at University of Oregon. He then returned to the cellar to hone his craft and follow his passion. Cody interned at Argyle Winery in vineyard management and remained to work the 2004 harvest. He then jumped at the opportunity to work vintage at Knappstein Wines in Claire South Australia where he also spent several months traveling the Australian continent and learning to surf.

Upon his return to Oregon he accepted the position of vineyard assistant at Ken Wright Cellars and worked and lived on a rural vineyard property in the Eola Hills. Soon Cody was lured back to the cellar by the aroma of fermenting wine and assisted in the winemaking at KWC with a special focus on white wines. During that time he also worked vintage in New Zealand at Ata Rangi Winery in Martinborough.

When Corby and Rollin decided to build a wine facility for their ROCO brand Cody jumped forward to claim the position as assistant winemaker. Cody oversees the day-to-day winery operations at ROCO while also finding the time to make his own wine. Now you’re just going to have to Google him to find out more about that.
